TRAVEL INSURANCE ON INTERNATIONAL JOURNEYS
Just by being a holder of the Generalitat of Catalonia's Carnet Jove youth card, when you travel you'll be much safer, as you will be covered by an insurance policy for international journeys (for your trips outside Spain). Each journey may not be longer than 90 consecutive days.
The insurance is activated automatically when you possess a Carnet Jove youth card in any of its modalities. The insurance policy is not valid with the provisional youth card or while you are applying for the Carnet Jove youth card.
The main features of the coverage of the insurance policy are the following, but we would advise you to check out the enclosed PDF document found at the bottom of this page in greater detail:
- Medical, surgical and pharmaceutical expenses and/or hospital stays abroad to a maximum of €3.000 abroad and €6.010'12 in the USA and/or Canada, per claim. (Expenses of less than €9'02 will not be repaid)
- Emergency dental treatment abroad, to a maximum of €30'05. (Expenses of less than €9'02 will not be repaid)
- Repatriation or health transfers, with medical health care if necessary, in the case of an accident or serious illness during the trip.
- Travel and stay expenses for a companion, in the case of a hospital stay of more than five days. In the case of the stay, accommodation and food will be paid for, to a maximum of €45'08 a day for a maximum of 10 days.
- Transfer of mortal remains from abroad, in the case of death during a trip covered by this insurance policy.
- Urgent messenger service derived from the coverage of the insurance policy.
- Location of luggage checked in and transported by air, boat, rail or bus, in the case of total or partial lost, due to transport, damages, fire or theft. Collaboration will be offered in denouncing, claiming and searching and finding procedures.
- Private civil liability during the trip, to a maximum of €30.050'61 per card holder, claim and year, for compensation demanded for being directly or collaterally liable from a civil point of view for material, bodily or patrimonial damages caused to third parties.
